Tyson Grilled Chicken Strips Review and Giveaway
Recently Collective Bias and Tyson provided me with a $50 gift card to try Tyson's Grilled Chicken Breast Strips and to tell you about them. They also provided 10 free product coupons for me to give to you. Look for those details at the bottom of this post. All opinions are mine.
I found this product in the frozen foods section of my local Kroger. The 1.37 pound bag cost $8.49. The chicken strips are fully cooked and 100% breast fillet with no preservatives.
I had many ideas of how to use these strips. They only need to be heated up for a few minutes in the microwave or on the stove, and they are ready to serve. They could be served alone as the main dish. I thought about using them to make a grilled chicken salad, chicken BLT sandwiches, or chicken wraps. But I decided that fajitas sounded really good. Below is the recipe.
These fajitas were quite delicious, and extremely quick and easy to make. The chicken had a good flavor and was very tender.
The trade off for the wonderful convenience of this product is the cost. Time versus money is the perpetual choice that we face when trying to make frugal decisions. Although I enjoyed this product, I have to say that this would not be something I would buy for myself. We very rarely buy convenience foods such as this because of their cost.
A more frugal alternative would be to buy chicken breast to grill and freeze the strips for later use. Making your own convenience food would obviously involve more of your time, but it would be significantly less expensive.
I was very pleased with the taste and convenience of this product. There is only one thing that stops me from giving it a whole-hearted positive endorsement. That one thing is the price.

I'd use them in chicken alfredo- making or a really quick meal!
I keep cooked brown rice in my freezer...mixed with this chicken and some frozen veggies, I'd get a nice quick meal!
I have used these in the past for a quick chicken sandwich lunch.

Chicken bacon artichoke pizza! My girls and my favorite pizze of late. The strips would be so convenient!
Mmm, I am thinking Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Cajun Chicken Pasta, Chicken fried Rice, Stir Fry, Tossed with Sauted Mushrooms and garlic and some zuchini and squash and served with a baked potato,Kinda like unskewered kabobs, mmm I could go on and on!!!
I love chicken in my pasta and I'd try this chicken that way.

YUM:)The pic looks delicious! My boys love chicken with spinach, pasta and Alfredo sauce.
God Bless
I'd make WRAPS...but no ordinary wraps. I fill mine with wild rice, sweet whole kernel corn and a touch of gravy. And best of all, I make my tortillas from scratch....when my kids see me making tortillas, they literally jump around like monkeys, chanting. "It's WRAPs night...."
You can add cheese, sour cream and just about anything. This chicken would be PERFECT for this :)
White chicken pizza. Mmmmmm. This would be so much faster and easier than cooking the chicken (which I always forget to do until last minute). :)
I put them in some mac and cheese (with added broccoli to up the healthly components). I'm getting hungry reading the comments!
I would like it plain.
I would add them to some salsa, sour cream, and rice and make some enchiladas.

I think I'd have to make Fajitas too- I mean who can afford them in a restaurant, but I love them.
