We'll be Having Mushrooms for Dinner
This morning we found some HUGE Oyster Mushrooms growing on a stump in the backyard. Can't wait to fry these up for dinner! They will be great with the roast that I already had planned for dinner.
Oyster mushrooms are pretty easy mushrooms to identify because they do not have many look alikes, but if you harvest any wild food, especially mushrooms, be sure to positively id before you consume. A good place to start is the Wild Man Brill Site.

This sounds delicious. I'm just always nervous about harvesting the "wrong" kind of wild mushroom! Don't want the kids tripping on psychedelic shrooms...even though it'd probably be a little funny to watch! lol
Thanks for the link and the info about oyster mushrooms. I didn't know they were safe to eat!
I have to agree mushrooms scare me to death, only know for sure a Morel and have seen the false ones.
But it sounds and looks like they will be great with your roast... or steak.... or veggie fajitas.. okay now I gotta get some! :)
Those do look very tasty! Thanks for joining the carnival this week :) .
Blessings,
Catherine
