Thirteen Things I Won't Be Shopping for This Christmas TT# 16

I've been doing a little online shopping, well mostly browsing, but here are thirteen things I definitely will not be buying this Christmas season.

1. A Hillary Nutcracker. Regardless of your political views I think that you can see the humor in this item, but it isn't on my shopping list!

2. travel insurance
Not really necessary when you are only going four hours away.

3. Inflatable Christmas Decorations
Sorry if you really love these, but I've yet to see a display of them that doesn't bring to mind the word cheesy! And don't even ask me about the run down mobile homes around here that have ten of these monstrosities in front of them.

4. Baby Dolls that Pee
I mean, really, don't I change enough real diapers around here?

5. Motorized Toys for Kids
Again, my apologies if you think these are the cutest things ever, but why do kids need a battery powered toy to run around the yard? Let them burn all that energy they are blessed with. And we wonder why we have a child obesity problem?

6. This tie or anything remotely resembling it.
Well, unless of course you want it honey?

7. A Large HDTV
I just have a problem with spending an entire paycheck (or more) on a T.V. Just my opinion though. Apparently those in the trailers with the Christmas inflatables don't have the same opinion.

8. A Pole Dancing Kit
Guys, I wouldn't advise buying this for your wife either.

9. A Notebook Computer
Ah, and this one I really wanted to shop for, for myself, but it looks like it will have to wait until after the first of the year.

10. Fruit Cake
A gift best enjoyed when it is homemade.

11. Meowy Christmas
I like cats and all, but listening to twenty Christmas favorites meowed may be a wonderful way to torture someone, but for pleasure? I think not. You can hear some samples by clicking on the link.

12. A Chihuahua Taco Holder
Is any explanation really needed?

13. A Cinderella Toaster
Not only does it make your toast, but it sings to you too. Um. . . anyone want that for Christmas this year?

I love these! :) So funny! Especially since I have the kitty christmas cd somewhere... I think someone gave it to me as a joke.

And you may find a good buy at a sale for your laptop... I heard a guy sat for 20 hours outside a Best Buy and bought himself a desktop computer w/printer for under $200. Good luck with that!

I'm with you on that list..
Happy TT to you...

Great list :)

I do know someone that would appreciate the Hillary nutcracker, but the rest are rather odd (or expensive!). Why on earth would you want a singing toaster?

The Hillary Nutcracker is the sort of thing that will become a collectible many years down the road. As for a musical toaster, I could get tired of Valse des Fleures very quickly!

Inflatables become tacky when there is more then one! An HDTV is going to be all you can watch in 2 years because all shows will be HD.

Nice Thursday! I have a good one up on mine, with a few perks!! Check it out!

Ah, I'd take the Cinderella toaster. Wait...on second thought, It'd drive me batty to hear singing when I only want some toast. (I'm not much of a morning person, if you can't tell.) Funny list!

Too funny! I totally agree on the inflatables! I could never spend that much money on something like that. Around here, they are Deflated on the ground half the time.

I have really enjoyed your blog so far and I check it everyday for great tips and such but I think the rude comments on people who live in trailers were a bit harsh and uncalled for. Not all who live in trailers have large hd tvs and inflatable christsmas decorations, I have seen plenty in high end neighborhoods including the one we live in. Before you decide and class which "kind" of people like such things maybe you should drive through some neighborhoods you deem above trailer park people and see for yourself.

Dana,
I didn't mean to offend. It was not meant as a broad statement against all that live in trailers. I in fact live in a double wide, and my parents live in a single wide trailer.

I don't like the inflatables regardless of what neighborhood they are in. As for the TV's I don't mind them if you can afford them. I for one can not. It bothers me though to see people living in houses (trailers or otherwise)that are falling apart, yet they have all these nonessentials. I don't get it. And those are the trailers I was referring to.

Great list! Thanks for today's smile! I'm a cat person but that Jingle Cats CD would never enter my house!!

I need to get DH a laptop, but I can't stand to do the holiday shopping thing, so if I can't find a deal online, than I won't get one at all.
I am up:

This was a great TT! I enjoyed it-thanks. I am so with you on the motorized toys for kids. My 3yo needs to move those things himself to let out HIS energy! lol. Your #7 esp, made me laugh. I KNOW what you mean!

Have a great night.

At one point in my teen years I purchased (and still have) a 45 rpm record of the Jingle Dogs.

As for the inflatables, I can not see one without wishing I had a pellet gun.
