Could work be good for our health?
I admire people who are trying to eat healthy and exercise to lose weight. We watched a recent episode of the Biggest Loser when one of the contestants got to go home for a day. Her experience inspired her friend to join her for twenty minutes at the elliptical machine. I certainly could use twenty minutes a day of heart pumping exercise, but. . .
I must say the business of exercise and weight loss bothers me. There are gym memberships, home equipment, classes, and the accessories and clothing for each different type of exercise to buy. Let's not forget about diets, special foods, and diet supplements. It seems like it should all be simpler, and a lot less expensive.
Obviously I do not have all this figured out, but how many minutes of scrubbing my tub would equal twenty minutes on a machine in a gym? How many calories does dancing around the living room with the kids in our PJ's burn? Could sparkling houses and playing with kids be the answer to our weight problems? Oh, sorry that would be work, and how could that be good for our health?

I have read your blog for some time, and you always have something interesting going on! I wondered the same thing, and found a great website that will tell you, for your weight, height, and duration of activity, how many calories you burn. This includes the usual things like aerobics, etc, but also stuff like housework and childcare! :-)

Jennifer,
Thanks for de-lurking! :)
I'm checking out that site. Maybe it will give me more motivation to clean!
