Kicking My Own Rear - Again
Why is it that draining the savings happens so quickly, but building it seems to take forever? We had to rely on our savings this summer to compensate for a drop in income. Now the income is back to normal, and we are doing extra things to build our savings and pay down debt. Yet, the savings account only slowly creeps up.
Lack of discipline is the biggest problem. The last few months have been busy. When it is busy it is too easy to spend money with out thinking. No, I haven't made any extravagant purchases, but have gone back to using my debit card instead of sticking to the cash only budget.
How many times have I mentioned here that it simply does not work for me? You probably understand it by now, so why can't I get it through my head?! When I use the debit card I lose track of how much I've spent. Then when I enter all the receipts I find I have to move money from the savings to the checking account; again! GRRR!!
Thank you for allowing me to vent!
