My Love Hate Relationship with Computers
I have realized that I'm very dependent on my computer. I do a lot on the computer. Some for fun. Some for practical and some things that are both. I feel kind of lost when the computer or the internet is down.
Our internet connection is via satellite. They call it high speed, but I've had DSL before, and this certainly is not high speed. It is faster than dial up though. There is no sense in complaining anyway, because it is our only option out here. We don't have phone lines, let alone cable. It is satellite or the library.
I've gotten used to the connection speed, but then you couple that with the fact that we have a dog computer, and well sometimes it is just down right frustrating. In the spring, we took the computer to the shop for a little hard drive boost. It helped, and was a cheap fix compared with purchasing something new.
Lately, I've noticed some of the same issues starting again. Some slow downs when I'm trying to do things, especially when I'm working with photos. So I thought maybe it just needed another Dell Memory boost. Tim says it may need something different this time. What do I know about computers? Nothing. Maybe it is just time for a new one?
I love my computer. I hate when it doesn't do what I want. I hate that I have to spend money on it. I feel the same way about cars. But that is another subject altogether, and I'm rambling. For now I will be satisfied with what I have, and add computer to the list of things that would be nice, but can wait.

I totally agree with you! I seems like cars and computers (both things that I hate spending money on too!) always have unexpected problems. I thought of you today when I realized my computer has suddenly erased over half of all my bookmarks! Argh!
I feel your pain! :)
