A Great Sugar Cookie Recipe
A fellow blogger shared his Grandmother's recipe for Tea Cakes (sugar cookies.) I love tried and true old fashioned recipes, and was excited to get this. I love eating sugar cookies too, but normally shy away from baking them because of the time and mess involved. Bar cookies are my favorite, to bake anyway.
Since I volunteered to make cookies for a church function this weekend, I thought it would be a great time to try this recipe. It is a very simple recipe to put together. Nolan enjoyed helping me roll and cut the dough, and that made the mess a little more tolerable. The results are fantastic. The kids are very disappointed that the bulk of these cookies will be saved for Sunday. We will be making these again. Thanks Jon for the wonderful recipe.

Thanks for sharing...ds loves sugar cookies and I can never make them as good as Mrs. Field's. Maybe this recipe will do the trick.
I had no idea that sugar cookies and tea cakes were the same.
Stephanie, Thanks for posting this article about my Grandma's Tea Cakes. A little research has shown this recipe is well over 100 years old!
Soon, I'll send you a Jalapeno recipe, that is a "killer". No mess with this one.
