What is in your vehicle?
We are a nation that loves our vehicles. We buy them and then spend even more on auto accessories to make them look better or be more functional. Then if they didn't already come with the vehicle, we buy all kinds of gadgets to make riding in our vehicles more entertaining. These kinds of things may seem like a luxury, but I can tell you when you taking a long trip with children some gadgets seem essential.
We don't have any added accessories, but we do have some gadgets. One is the XM radio. I could do with out this, but for Tim it is a high priority want. He is on the road the better part of each day, and travels in areas that simply do not get radio stations. Adding the second radio for my vehicle does not cost much, and is very nice on long trips. We listen to the XM, but we don't buy any other music.
The other gadget I love is a small cooler that plugs into the car. I picked this up at a garage sale for $15 last summer. We don't use it all the time, but I love it for long trips. Keeps our packed lunch, snacks and drinks cold, and we don't have to mess with ice. (It will also keep things hot.)
What are your favorite accessories or gadgets for a vehicle?

We have XM in my car (not in dh's). And we have the cassette tape/iPod adapter. Both of which we enjoy a lot.
Kids take the DS games. And for really long trips they take a portable DVD player.
That's it. No other plug ins or accessories.
Hi, your blog seems to be really nice!! Are you interested in exchanging links? My blog is at http://changingtechnology.blogspot.com/ and it’s about the latest gadgets and the technology used. Do let me know if you are interested. I too will put up a link to your blog on mine. Thanks.
I don't really have any gadgets in my car. Those sound really nice though!
We have one of those cooler/warmers, too. We got it and a cord that allows it to be plugged into a wall socket as gifts.
We bought a dual screen DVD player for the truck a couple of years ago. It also plugs into the same adapter cord as the heater so the kids can watch movies in our cabin on rainy days on vacation (they only have tv's with the rabbit ears there). This has been a really nice thing for the boys when we drive to WV, Cinci and to go fishing at Leesville Lake. we really use it a lot.
We bought a tonneau cover for the truck as well. This keeps our luggage dry on trips, improves oour gas mileage and will prolong the life of the truck bed. That one is more of an investment in the maintainence of the truck than for looks.
I don't have any extra gadgets in my car but my husband's car has xm radio and a navigation system. I must say they are a must for traveling
Showing how cheap we are...a bag full of all those McDonald's toys. We try not to ever even bring them in the house. Most of them are kind of dumb, but when kept in the car and used only there, they somehow get their use.
And it is no big deal if one falls out of the car and is left at a rest stop three states away!
