What are Your Favorites?

What are your favorite skin care products? I'm thinking of trying some new things. My beauty routine is very simple, almost nonexistent. During the summer though, I do use quite a bit of lotion fighting dry skin on my feet, legs and face. I've been using a generic lotion that is a copy of Lubriderm. It works fine, but I have one problem with it; lanolin.

I used to love lanolin, but now that we have a sheep, every time I put the lotion on I feel like I smell like Maggie (the sheep.) Stop laughing, it is true!I could just get another knock off with out lanolin, but I thought I'd run it by you to see what your favorites are. Of course, I'm looking for something simple and very frugal. Any suggestions?

Oh, how funny!! We have dairy goats and I cannot use soap made from goat's milk for the same reason!!! Sensitive sniffer, I guess!

I have been using plain old baby oil on my legs and feet this summer. I don't know how effective it is at moisturizing, but it smells good and has a nice look.

I have a contest going on in which you can win a spa package from KLEAN bath and body! :)

I like vaseline and baby oil myself. I also like avon intensive moisture therapy, but it can be pricey. I usually wait till it comes on sale.

I use plain old olive oil (the kind you cook with) I put it on after I get out of the tub while my skin is still wet. Just a little goes a long way. It works great for me.

Now, you know I am frugal, but I don't put anything on my body with petroleum in it. So, I use pure jojoba oil to moisturize my face. I clean my face with hydrogen peroxide (I promise, it's almost miraculous!) At night, the jojoba oil goes on (11.00 for a 4 oz bottle lasts about 3 months) It makes my skin soooo soft and radiant!

I really like the Cetaphil cleanser and moisturizers. I heard that it was the best and least expensive for your skin (according to dermatologists). Our local superstore has a generic version of each. I have been using it for about four months and am only halfway through the cleanser and am just now needing to pick up some of the lotion.

For my body, I use the Cetaphil or the Avon Moisture Therapy (when it runs on sale). I am trying those touch of sun lotions for the summer (I am a lily white gal)just to give me a little color.

For a special treat, I soak my feet in Epsom salts (I mix them with a little lavender essential oil) and then put Vaseline on my feet and cotton socks. Your feet will be baby soft in the morning.

For my hands, I rub a little coarse salt and olive oil on them and give myself a good hand scrubbing.

I hope that helps- good luck on your beauty quest!

Vaseline with aloe or Murray's beewax(Dollar General) on hands and feet. I also use plain olive oil on arms and legs.

I've been using Ponds on my face...the old fashioned stuff in the jar. I take it off with a wet wash cloth.

I use Cetaphil (Walmart generic brand, of course) as my facial cleanser and Oil of Olay (also Walmart generic brand) ad my moisturizer. A take off eye makeup with baby oil.

I have no line around my eyes, I don't break out, and my cheek is as smooth as a baby's butt!

I love goats milk soap :)
Here are my other all time favorites..
(these are ones I buy.. I have lots of information on them on my blog here http://bricoreandfamily.blogspot.com/2007_03_04_archive.html)

NIOXIN
Instacure
St. Ives Apricot Scrub
got2b in your face
Cetaphil
Oatmeal Bath

When it comes to homemade stuff...Oh, I could go on forever (you know me..)
When I am REALLY babing myself I will take Extra V. Olive oil and Apple Vinegar and put it on my body (now that apple vinegar stuff stinks but mixing those two does something for your skin. I was told it helps those nasty cell. on the back of my legs. I can't really say it does that because I still have them but it does something for my skin.)

Another thing that I just love is sugar scrubs.. Oh, I could go on again..lol.. Here fast...Take DRYED orange peels (grind them in a coffee maker) add sugar, and a tad of lemon... Wonderful!!!

Ok, enough... I Loved the topic of course!

I really like the effect cold cream has on my face. I use it every night. It just takes a little bit.
