Unexpected Money
I rarely get our mail. The mailboxes are well. . .a ways off. I can't see them from here. Usually someone stops to get the mail for the two houses (ours and Mamaw and Papaw's) on their way in from work. Sometimes my brother will get the mail on his way to work, and then I won't see it for a couple days. It's normally all bills, so I don't mind not seeing those for a few days.
The other day I was running errands and stopped on my way back for the mail. There was an envelope there from Huntington Eye Center. It did not look like junk mail. We don't wearlasses, so I couldn't figure out why I would be getting something from there.
When I opened it there was only one piece of paper; a check for $29. No statement was included. There was only the check with a small note in the memo, "Kellen's appointment." I had to think for a few minutes and then remembered that Kellen did go to the eye doctor as a follow up from the pediatrician. (Everything was fine.) That was almost a year ago!
I do remember I had to pay for part of the visit. My husband, Tim, thinks that the insurance probably paid for something that the Dr.'s office charged me for, and they are now refunding it. Crazy, but I'm sure he is right. $29 isn't much, but I'm happy to have it. It will almost fill my gas tank. Maybe I should get the mail more often.

What you don't know is that there have been other checks, but your brother needs those few days to steam the stuff open and check the insides. (wink) Just kiddin!
I love found money!!
I love things like that. I got a check for $50 from our insurance co. a month or two ago and had to call them to figure out why the overpayment hadn't been credited to my next payment. Turns out the policy period (6 months) had ended and they had to clear their books of it. I also found $20 in my purse a couple of weeks ago (tucked in the pocket during vacation and forgotten). Maybe I should play the lottery! LOL!
