Garden Green Beans
There is nothing like green beans fresh from the garden. Well, maybe fresh from the garden tomatoes and corn, but those aren't ready yet. So for now, I 'm celebrating the green beans.
Friday night I noticed the green beans needed picking in the little garden. So with some "help" from Lydia (5) and Nolan (3), I picked about a mixing bowl full of green beans. Of course some were consumed as we picked, and then Papaw swiped some out of the bowl. Yes, raw green beans. They are delicious straight from the garden.
I fried a little bacon with onion, then added a little water and the green beans. Then let it all cook until the beans were just done. Add a sprinkle of salt and that was my dinner for the night. It was so good!
I hope I'm not boring you with all the gardening and wild food (blackberry) posts. That just is what is going on here now. Don't be afraid to let me know if you are bored with it, and please ask me any questions that you'd like. I'll try to answer them between bites of green beans!

This sounds so delicious! I wish I had some green beans in my garden right now.
That looks so good! But I have too many traumatic childhood memories of picking beans to ever plant any of my own. My back aches just thinking about it. LOL
Yummy! I think I'm going to have to garden vicariously through others this year. We cannot have one where we are currently renting. :(
I showed up at the right time. I just picked some today. I will be making them tomorrow. I can't wait.
I have never grown green beans but next year!!!..
They looks so good.

Your recipe sounds delicious, but I love them raw too. And raw peas...straight out of the pod. Yum! You are making me hungry! I am here from The Garden Tour. Enjoy your day!
