Oh their is dirt under the fingernails too from the garden. My lips were only slightly blue. :) The pies are on the counter for tomorrow's picnic. Sorry no jam didn't pick enough for both. Made some syrup with what was left after the pies. There are plenty more berries out there for jam! :) And yes it was worth it!

Nah, using gloves ruins all the fun. Besides, you'll get fuzz in your mouth when you try to lick your fingers.

I love picking berries. My personal favorite is blueberries but blackberry picking is great too. Don't get to pick too many berries here in Brooklyn!
Our blackberries are not ripe yet in WV. But when they are I will join you in the purple stained fingers club!
Unless you have a formal ball to go to later, why bother with gloves? LOL The staining is half the fun.
