Shopping Clearance for Health and Beauty
I love shopping clearance! I've shopped clearance for clothing for a long time. I rarely buy new clothing unless it is on the clearance rack. But there is so much more than clothing to find on clearance.
I love when a store has a specified clearance aisle. You can find a little bit of everything there. I browse those aisles every time I'm in the store. Even if a store has a clearance aisle, there are often even more deals to find if you look closer.
The past few weeks I've been finding some great deals in the health and beauty departments. At one store, the marked down items were found at the end of the aisle nearest the wall. At the other store, there were marked down items in one section of the aisle itself.
I found Oral B toothpaste and generic brand fluoride rinse for the kids marked 1/2 price; $1 each. Promotion packs of Crest Whitening Expressions were marked down to $2. It included a 7.8 oz tube and two travel size tubes of Crest Pro-Health. Kotex pads with wings were also marked 1/2 price. I stocked up on these items because they were great prices, and I know they will get used. There were lots of other things I didn't buy too; lotions, razors, hair dye, shampoos, and more.
Clearance isn't just for clothing or seasonal items. You can shop clearance for many of the items your family needs. Keep your eyes open for those signs with the magical word "CLEARANCE" on them. When you find items your family needs, stock up! It is a great way to stretch those grocery dollars!

This is a great reminder! I'll have to start paying more attention to those clearance signs!
We always wander by the clearance table/shelves/aisle. You never know what goodies you might come across!
Just today I bought some $25 curtains which were on sale for $4! I was so happy. I really ought to check them out more often.
I love clearance stuff--especially when you can also use a coupon. Remember to check the 'seasonal' areas after each special holiday or season. I got a $20 makeup kit at CVS for just $2 when things went down to 90% off after Christmas--just because it was meant to be sold as a gift!
Three cheers for all the drugstores with $4 generics! And now Wal-Mart has started selling 3 months of some generics for $10. Wow! For my other meds that aren't generic I use the prescription discount card that I found at www.rxdrugcard.com. Low membership fee. Drug prices posted to check before you join.
