Homemade Buffalo Chicken Pizza

A few weeks ago we were at CiCi's. They may not have the best pizza, but it is ok, and when you are taking the whole family out, you can't beat their prices. While there, Tim, Kellen and I were enjoying the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and started talking about how easy it would be to make at home.

The other day I found myself with leftover chicken. There also was leftover hot sauce in the fridge from the last time I made wings. Of course, we also had mozzarella cheese and all the ingredients for crust. (Remember pizza is a staple around here.) It was the perfect time to try Buffalo Chicken Pizza.

I used my normal crust recipe. Instead of tomato sauce, I topped the crust with Buffalo Hot Sauce. I had some already made, but in case you need a recipe; Melt 4 TB butter and add 3-4 TB hot sauce and 1 TB white vinegar. I topped this with shredded leftover chicken and a light sprinkling of mozzarella cheese. In the oven at 425 F for about 15 minutes, and you have Homemade Buffalo Chicken Pizza.

Those who like it spicy enjoyed this pizza, while the others chowed down on a pepperoni one. We all agreed it was much better than CiCi's. And it probably was even cheaper.

Yum! Another reason I have got to start making pizza at home.

Sounds so good!!! I have to admit that I LOVE LOVE LOVE CiCi's zesty pepperoni pizza! It isn't hot or spicy and it has a creamy sauce rather than the traditional tomato sauce. I'm hungry for it now! :o)

I do believe we'll be making that pizza tonight! It's time I started making my own pizza crust.

Your pizza looks yummy! Question...can your pizza dough be frozen?

Maggie and Becca,
Let us know how it turns out if you make it.

I've only tried to freeze pizza dough once, and I can't remember if it was this recipe or another I used to use. I froze it already spread out so it would be ready to use. It was ok, but I wasn't thrilled. Fresh is better, but maybe it is just my recipe or me. I know Jenn @ Frugal Upstate regularly freezes her dough. You can find a link to her in my "frugal blogroll" menu in the side bar and then you should be able to do a search for the pizza dough.

another recipe that rocks! I could use more wing sauce on it. It was great.

Our local pizzeria uses bleu cheese dressing as the sauce & the hot sauce on the chicken (they used to use fingers). I am going to be making some here after our next grocery shopping trip.

I make chicken bbq and then use that as a pizza some nights. It turns our really good and it was a great way to repurpose leftovers. Way to be inventive!

That sounds really good! My experience with homemade pizza is limited to chicken alfredo pizza, but I might have to try this. We eat a lot of chicken and always have some left over. This sounds like a great way to use those leftovers.

That sounds and looks delicious. I will keep that in mind. The best recipes are when you can take leftovers and make something new, huh? It's such a victory! time and money saved! This would be too spicy for my DD, but you're right, I can make her a different flavor.

I know the original post is way too old but to instill a bit more taste and intelligence into this thread. Don't use the wing sauce as a crust base but use what Cici uses; Blue cheese dressing. The Buffalo Wing Hot Sauce is put on the top of everything. Checkout the pic on the Cicis site. And yes it does taste the same.
