Cook with What You Have - Stumbleupon

How many times mid-afternoon have you thought, "What are we going to have for dinner?" Or for you faithful menu planners, have you looked at the menu and thought, "I don't feel like making that." I recently stumbled upon an interesting site, Cooking by Numbers.

You click off the things you have in your fridge and cupboard, and then the site finds recipes to match what you have on hand. It isn't all inclusive, and the recipes are mostly basic, but it is fun and a good place to start when you need some ideas. There are some other interesting things too, like Skills by Number, and Vodka Jelly.

How did I find this? Michelle turned me onto this cool tool called Stumbleupon. She explains it so well in her post that I will just refer you there for more information. Basically, it is channel surfing the web by your interests. Tim has used it more than I, (what is it with guys and channel surfing?) but I have found some interesting things by stumbling upon them. Try it and see what you can find.

Just the tool I need ! However, an add-on tool could be a robot that takes stock of the refrigerator and produces the list. Usually, there are vegetables from last spring lurking at corners, and I don't open my refrigerator unless it is a case of life and death !! :)
